How to Apply: The Admission Checklist

St. Mark’s Campus - Age 1 - Pre-K 3
    • Early Learning Program (ELP) 1 must be one year old before September 1
    • Early Learning Program (ELP) 2 must be two years old before September 1
    • Pre-K 3 must be three years old before September 1 and completely potty trained
    • Application . ELP and Pre-K 3 applications include a non-refundable $50 application fee.
St. Mark’s Campus - Pre-K 4 - Grade 6

Admission decisions are made by Episcopal’s Admission Committee based on the following criteria: 

  • Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten: 
    • Pre-K 4 must be four years old before September 1
    • Kindergarten must be five years old before September 1
    • Developmental assessment
    • Teacher recommendation and records from current school (if applicable)
  • Grades 1 - 6: 
    • Student transcript
    • Teacher recommendation 
    • Interview
    • Grade level assessment

Checklist:

  • Application –  All applications include a non-refundable $100 application and assessment fee.
  • Student Interview – When the application is received, the Admission Office will contact you to schedule an appointment for the interview.
  • Transcript and Teacher Recommendation – When the application is received, the Admission Office will contact the current school to request the applicant's records and a confidential teacher recommendation. 
  • Developmental or Grade Level Assessment – Dates and assessment instructions will be communicated once the Admission Office receives the application. 
Beaches Campus - Pre-K 3 - Grade 6

Admission decisions are made by Episcopal’s Admission Committee based on the following criteria:

  • Developmental or Grade Level Assessment – Dates and assessment instructions will be communicated once the Admission Office receives the application.  
Munnerlyn Campus - Grades 6-12

Admission decisions are made by Episcopal’s Admission Committee based on the following criteria:

  • Student transcript
  • Teacher recommendations 
  • Interview
  • ISEE scores

Checklist:

  • Application . All applications include a non-refundable $50 application fee.
  • Student Interview – When the application is received, the Admission Office will contact you to schedule an appointment for the candidate’s interview.
  • Transcripts and Teacher Recommendations – When the application is received, the Admission Office will contact the applicant’s current school requesting transcripts and two confidential teacher recommendations. 
  • Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) – Each applicant is required to take the ISEE.  Dates, locations and test registration instructions are all online at . Episcopal's School Code is 102049. Students taking the must submit documentation directly to ISEE for approval prior to registering for the test. Accommodations requests should be submitted for at least six weeks prior to your desired test date. (SSAT scores also accepted if ISEE is unavailable.)

2020-2021 Admission Timeline

  • September - January: and complete the Admission Checklist.
  • September 1: 2021-2022 Application Opens
  • January 31: First Round Application Deadline
  • February 25: Lower School First Round decision notifications
  • March 4: Middle/Upper School First Round decision notifications
  • February - August: Applications submitted after January 31 will be evaluated on a rolling basis as spaces become available.

Admission and Enrollment Policies

  • Episcopal seeks to accept exceptional students who can contribute their gifts and talents to our community and who desire to become their best selves while participating in our rigorous academic program.
  • In accordance with the resolutions of the Executive Council of The Episcopal Church, Episcopal does not accept religious exemptions for vaccinations.
  • Admissions and Financial Aid are separate processes. Application for financial aid in no way affects the decision for admission. .
  • In case of separate households, a students must be enrolled under one of the options in ESJ's .
  • Episcopal School of Jacksonville welcomes qualified students without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, creed, religion, or national origin.
